Gratitude
What has helped me with tragedy, stress and recovery has been to feel deep gratitude. When I think of loved ones who have passed, I think with gratitude on the time we had together, the special bond we shared. That deep sense of gratitude brings me peace.
At the heart of Taoism, is the concept of balancing Desire with being Desireless. Desire is helpful as it provides the passion to learn, grow and build. Being desireless is what allows one to obtain peace. I had much difficulty in my life being desireless until I found that deep gratitude was the answer for me. Be gratify for all we have in life and the people and relationships that enrich us.
